Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in theÂ necessary operations of the institution. Work hours: Most courses will be taught during the evening in Waco, 6:30-9:15 PM, with other office hours as work and teaching requirements indicate. Teaching may be required online as needed. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position at a 4-4 teaching load effective September 1, 2023, on the Waco campus.
EssentialÂ DutiesÂ andÂ ResponsibilitiesÂ
80% Teaching and Service: Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learningÂ processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools; RemainÂ current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect currentÂ levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Develop a system for ongoing evaluationÂ of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency andÂ student learning outcomes; Exhibit a mature view of the academic discipline; Work inÂ partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation ofÂ instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional developmentÂ activities to improve student learning. May be required to teach at other campuses online. MaintainÂ an appropriateÂ scheduleÂ ofÂ officeÂ hoursÂ forÂ studentÂ accessÂ andÂ inquiry;Â
Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation.Â Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees,Â club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring ofÂ newÂ andÂ part-timeÂ faculty.Â
20% Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity: Demonstrate a record of ongoingÂ research,Â scholarshipÂ orÂ creativeÂ activityÂ appropriateÂ toÂ yourÂ academicÂ discipline.Â Faculty are encouraged to obtain and maintain professional certification and external grant funding.
Earned doctorate/terminal degree approved by the University and recognized by theÂ Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges withÂ appropriateÂ academicÂ credentialsÂ verifiedÂ byÂ Tarletonâ™sÂ faculty credentialingÂ processes.Â
Degree from an AACSB-accredited institution; CPA certification.
